Question About Using SDCs for Vocals

I am interested to know how many of you have ever used a small diameter condenser mic for vocals? Recently, I tried using my Gefell M300 matched pair on my voice and I was stunned at how nice the sound quality was. This was the song: http://www.homerecording.com/bbs/sho...d.php?t=218080

Anyone else have success using SDCs for vocals?

Probably equally or more often than large diameter condensers. But not nearly as often as large diaphragm dynamics (RE-20, SM7, etc.).

I've used the Shure SM-81 and MXL 603s for some background vocals. They work just fine.

What is supposed to be the big advantage of
LDCs over SDCs for vocals? This I don't get.

well...LDCs have the lowest self noise and the highest sensitivity..

and have a massive effect on the soundfield.

I use Schoeps MK41 on my voice all the time...
