Simple question for you guys - on the presonus Firepod I have 2 instrument ins and 6 line ins. Can I insert a microphone cable from the mixing board into the instrument in on the Firepod? Will all 8 ins take a mic cable from the board?
Baisc shit I should know but don't. Thanks Aaron

why are you suing the board? All 8 ins will take a mic line in (straight in for sure, dont know about in from the board) ins 1 and 2 are for mics or instruments, ins 3 to 8 are for line ins.

The xlr (mic cable) inputs on the firepod are mic level. The 1/4 are line level. If you are coming from a mixer, you want to plug into the line level (1/4) jacks.

The short answer to your question is: yes.
Your unit has 8 direct inputs for anything. I'm going to assume that the 2 instrument ins you're talking about have a slightly different pre-amp for DI'ing guitars etc. |
