Humannnoise has sent some good pictures of what looks like a really nice setup. Love the yellow dog, I'm a softy for dogs.

John, I noticed you didn't put up the link for people... As I've said before I'm one for allowing easy access to the site, and to everything on the internet. If you don't have any objections I'd love to give everyone the link.

Well, at least I have the same ASHTRAY...

Great studio, Humannoise. Did you wire it up yourself? And if so, were those patchbays a bitch? And did you know how much wire you needed initially? And (yes, one more) once you were "done" with that wire, what did you do with the excess?

Can you SELL excess wire? Is it worth keeping in the garage (sounds like ALOT of wire)?

And your mic picture... is that how you have them on the wall, in cut placeholders? Or is that more a "line 'em up for the photo" type of a thing? If so, consider making it more permanent (gotta feeling you did, so ignore this. I just wanted to know for sure...).

Anyway, nice studio. I enjoyed the photos.

That's a beautiful setup you got there. Have you considered building a door for the computer cabinet or is the computer silent enough?

Also, do you smoke in the control room? Tsk tsk.

Thank you John for posting the pics and the kind words.
Kelly; yea, I wired the patch bays my self and it WAS a bitch but a labor of love. I have about 800' of wire left and it's definately worth keeping in the garage for things that pop up.
Ola; I'm looking for a rack mount case for the computer and the doors for the rack are made but not installed yet. It's way too noisey the way it is now. And we only smoke the imported brands in the control room (after all, you gotta tune before you can play).

Rack mounted computer cases are dead expensive and I don't think you'll benefit from it anyway. A nifty sound insulated door with sufficient ventilation would probably be better.

Oh, and smoking in the control room is bad for the gear.

What I wanted to do with rack mounting the computer was to shock mount and isolate the rack rails from the cabinet so as to acousticly de-couple the computer from the world and then do the doors and ventilation. That would also free up more space in the rack for other stuff ( I have a good sized rack drawer I'm going to mount under the computer).

Inspired

Very nice job on your studio. I am inspired to submit pictures of my studio... Yes, the ones I have been promising for over a year. I had the pictures developed last night, so be on the look-out.

Humannoise -

Very nice setup indeed! The Yellow Dog looks like a great companion - stay away from cats, they like to chew knobs off of mixers.

Very comfortable feel to your studio, looks like a place I would love to hang out. Do you feel that this comfort adds to the creativity? I would. Sheesh, I would never go to sleep if I had a room like that.

Again, thanks for all the positive comments. It's definatly a comfortable room which adds a great deal to the creative vibe. I've had a few people tell me that they would much rather track here than a down town studio. Much more relaxed. My girlfriend complains that I spend WAY too much time here though. I disagree.
