So did you order one of these? it sounds like a great deal for a Gretsch even if made in Japan. I suppose the quaility would be better that previous late US models.

I've never owned a Gretsch but I have been tempted to try one out.

I'm curious to how stable the tuning is with a Bibsy TP.

I like the gretsches but this is one of the thinner ones. 2" thick. I wanted one of those 4" thick ones that you can climb inside of.

No. I've got a MIJ 6118 Double Annie that's satisfying my Gretsch appetite for now. It was my first Gretch and after shopping around and playing lots of models I'm glad I bought a newer MIJ one rather than a vintage American one.

But this is a great deal for the TR. People were paying almost twice this amount a year ago. I would've pounced if there weren't a couple other guitars further up on my list.

I just like to keep fellow guitarists appraised of great deals as they come down the pipes.

I have one of the early Gretsch Setzer models. It's a kick ass guitar and sounds sweet!
