Cakewalk PA9 + Pod = Static

I am recording 2 different guitar tones from the Pod into Cakewalk PA 9 through a Delta 66 soundcard. Each track was recorded with a great tone and safe levels, but when the 2 different tones (one clean and one with some distortion) are combined, I get a nasty static sound. None of my levels are peaking when they are played together and everything else looks good with my soundcard outputs. Has anyone run into this problem before and if so how did you fix it??
