cubase sx3 is forcing 44khz on me

i want to record samples in 24/48 but cubase automatically forces 44khz rate, and i knows theirs going to be a conflict somewhere down the line. I looked all over the program but i dont see how the hell im supposed to change this. Also i cant seem to edit my presets.

What i really need is a list of progs in order from least to greatest difficulty of use, cause cubase is rediculous.

You have to set the project to 48k. You might also need to set your soundcard to 48k as well.

You might need to break out your "Getting Started" guide.

Cubase is a pretty easy program to use, you just need to open the manual to learn how and where to set it up. You will have the same difficulty with every other program.

oh i see it, its under 'project setup'. doesnt matter anyways, read on.

Also, i have a audiophile192 sound card, and when i have cubase on and i go into the sound cards configuration page its set at 44khz and every time i click on a different khz it jumps back to 44. THen when cubase is off, i can set the sample rate to 48, but cubase will throw it back to 44 like i just mention, but if i select [rate locked] in the soundcard config then open cubase, cubase gives me this error "sample rate could not be set. This may be due to the sampleclock being set to external sync", which is the same error i got when i had an audigy card with cubase, which is the whole reason i switched cards in the first place.

its like cubase only wants 44khz and will fight me and my card if it doesnt get its way.

Got to project-> project setup. You do this after you open a new project. (or shift+S)
This is where you set the frame rate, bit depth, sample rate, etc...

You need to put down the book from the book store and pick up the owners manual.

It has to, otherwise you would open up a 48k project with your card set at 44.1k and Cubase would play slow. (or the other way around) It makes sure everything is lined up so you don't have to chase your tail everytime you open up another project.
