Bass amp hiss

I bought an Ibanez 20w bass amp for my son last Christmas. Yesterday, when he was playing it started making an annoying hissing sound. Any ideas or suggestions?

banddomain is on a distinguished road
Check the cable between the amp and bass. Might be a bad cable.

Could be the cable
The pick ups
A lose input jack
Or he could be playing next to something like a computer

if hes playing next to anything with a magnet it could be the problem, examples, a computer, a televison, stereo speakers, ETC.

- Hope this helps

It may also be a bad ground in the Bass itself, if you have another guitar, plug it in and test it. A faulty ground can cause a loud hiss to happen.

Thanks for all the replies!
The first thing I checked was the cable, Then I took it a part and check the connections--all looked good. I then unplugged the speaker and tried another one from my studio and still had the hissing noise. I thought I had chucked the warranty info and receipt but I found it and discovered that it's still under so I'm taking it to my dealer tomorrow. I'll let you know what it is.
Once again thanks for the help

Update

I took it to the dealer today and they think it's the limiter, they have to send it back to the Ibanez factory.
