Looking for advice on new DAW hardware - kORG D3200

Hi
im new to this forum . i would like to ask anyone thier thoughts on the Korg d3200 . Im upgrading from a Roland vs1680 and think this might be a great unit @ $1300 , as well as being half what the Roland vs2480 is . If any body has one , or can share any info on it (pros , cns), id really appreciate it!

thanks

Frank

i sell recording gear myself and i also used to own a 1680. the only way i'd let someone buy another stand alone recorder from me is if they insisted on buying one. if they did insist we would have a long coversation about that versus a computer based setup. i already know about the hands on feel and out-of-the-box attraction of these boxes. i'm a hardware guy myself. i sell people on these attributes when it fits. stll a $800 laptop and $600 interface that includes the recording software is what i'd rather see them get.

i have debated the differencesbetween the 2, good and bad, and as a salesman and customer i'd rather go with a computer based rig.

just my 2....
