Need to Sync Roland MC-808 to Zoom Drum Machine
Salutations! I am having trouble syncing my Zoom RT-223 to my new Roland MC-808 sequencer. The RT-223 only has a MIDI IN. The problem is, when I press play on the MC-808 sequencer, sometimes the Zoom beat syncs and sometimes the Zoom beat starts to lag. It's confusing because when it does work, it seems that everything is synced correctly, but 3 times out of 5 it does not work and it makes me think that there is an error in communication between the units. Maybe I'm missing a step in the setup process on the MC-808. Any advice is greatly appreciated! I hate not being able to use all the existing patterns I've created on my RT-223.

Make the Roland the master and the Zoom the slave by setting the clock on the Roland to internal and the clock on the Zoom to external.
The Zoom should play when you hit play on the Roland. If that doesn't work, try a different midi cable to connect the units. .
