Midi drums

Roland td3
Eurorack 802
Sonar 5
Soundblaster Live via game port lead.

I'm good with sonar recording wave files but
being new to midi it seems such a task. Been
reading up all day and have the cables into
my kit but seem lost now.
Just some beginners tips would be welcome.
Thanks

hit arm on the midi track.

and then record.

then learn about quantize.

then learn about using the pencil and eraser to correct yourself.

I'm trying to just record my drums to midi as i said
wave is no problem but i realise midi is better for
these drums.

hit arm on the midi track.

and then record

I plugged my cable into the drums onto my pc brought
out a midi track on sonar tried pressing record but nothing
seemed to record, i'll try again over the weekend, maybe
some settings in my card need changed.

Got my card installed and it sounds awsome, one question as per norm,
in sonar should the midi outputs and inputs have the same driver, mine is
showing Delta AP midi in both in and out.

Can a USB connection work for midi? I have a Korg Pad Kontrol, and I'm using DFHS, and Sonar 5.

Yes, yes, yes.

The data that is sent thru a USB cable conforms to the Musical Instrument Digital Interface protocol standardized in 1983.

It's pure, 100% MIDI.

Nothing less and nothing more...

the input should be Delta AP, and the output should be whatever you want to use to assign samples to the drums. whether that is Drumkit From Hell, BFD, DR-008, Battery, or any of the other slew of drum plugins available out there.
