The hookup procedure depends on which pt harware you have. If you have an mbox v.1, you're going to need an external midi interface because there is none --- and no provision for midi tracks --- in the software.

The mbox v.2 - the newer version - does have midi ports and you can tell the difference by the 5-pin midi in and midi out sockets.

It will take two midi cables, an setting change inside the Triton and four pluging ins to hook up the Triton to your mbox.

Let's start with the setting in the Triton. Find the global settings page inside the Triton and set the 'Local On/Off' to 'Off'. This will break the connection between the keyboard and the sounds inside, and leave you with a virtual master keyboard and a Triton sound module.

Now take one of the midi cables and plug it from the midi out of the Triton to the midi in of the mbox. Then plug the midi out of the mbox to the midi in of the Triton.

no. nothing much anyway.

just make sure the midi track input is set to all devices or whatever it says.

pc or mac?

for mac, you should config the AMS Setup.

por PeeCee, i have no idea

oh yes- the midi outputs on the track in the mix window- they must be set to something, like a synth plugin- reason adapted, sampletank, (those both come with digi 002).. say you want to use sampletank- set the track out's to sampletank channel 1 (or whatever) and then in sampletank, load the preset you want to use into channel one.

btw- sampletank/reason have to be opened in a corresponding aux/audio track. sampletank only shows up in a stereo track, reason works in both i think.

Yes, glasshopper.

The communication protocol sent down the USB wire is still midi even though it doesn't come out of the 'out' din plug.

Try it and see for yourself.
