My latest finished project. (Grind / Metal)

A local grind / metal band. First time i've ever done something like this, i'm stoked at how it came out. This is the first time i've been able to get the guitars to come out so clean. =)

Please give me feedback and criticism (good and bad). =] The only thing I can say I didn't like is: The toms on the drums didn't come out to great, but it's because his tuning was horrible and that's how he liked it. Also, the vocalist isn't my favorite.

Take care,
Adam.

Seems underpowered.
Could be the allovertheplaceness of the drummer.
The bass only seems to come out for the deep notes.
Things seem to be nicely recorded.
I think it may be the fact that it doesn't work as a song that underpowers it.
As producer you should talk to the band about their tuning, song structure and stuff - I'm sure you raised the issues - & if they choose to ignore you that's a pity (pity you can't put a disclaimer on the tack).

What do you mean by underpowered? I agree with the bass, but the band does not have a bass player so the guitarist played bass, and didn't really have set parts. Also, I tried to help the guitarist with the tuning and but he had his shit set in stone, haha. Anyway, I appreciate the feedback. Thanks duder.

Take care,
Adam.

I think you should do something to bring the volume up and even out the frequency response of the whole track. It's really good though. They're a good grind band. I dunno how many of us on the forum can appreciate such random song structure, but it works; it's just kinda ugly. tse la vie!

hah, yea talk to them about the song structure of a grind song. that'll be an intellectual conversation for sure.
recordingwise i think it sounds real good. the snare might be a little high in the mix.

i agree completely! Nothing useful in this post except i think the vocals are a bit thin. But thats probably just the singer,
