ROLAND AX-7 MIDI Controller
Hi everyone,
I just bought a ROLAND AX-7 and am having some trouble keeping the patches I want in the memory. I am following the instructions as per page 17 in the instruction manual but the only thing I can save in the memory is the octave setting and the transpose setting. It won't remember the patch setting. It will always go back to the GM Prog#1 setting. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Ben

Thats probably by design. My advice would be just to copy the the synth patch you want to use as #1 on the controller to the #1 location on the synth

if its a ROM patch cant u copy it to a RAM patch?

If you're having trouble storing patches it may well be the five year battery. Open the 'board up and it'll be a round battery that you can just - hopefully - pop out of the holder and take to your local Radio Shack for replacement. If it's a soldered battery and you've never dealt with soldering anything you may want to get some help - like from a repair shop. .

Figured it out
I'm so new to MIDI now I feel kinda stupid... It appears that I wasn't entering the (MSB and LSB Bank addresses) then entering the patch.
 Works great now  Ben
