Soundcraft ghost : Meterbridge?

How can I configure if I want channel input or tape input monitoring, do I have to open the thing up?

Yeah, there is a jumper inside that is "global" (it effects all channels).

You could actually wire it to have an external switch.

Are you sure about that?

I had to move a jumper on every channel. I just re-read the manual to make sure I was not mis-remebering (the 90's were pretty rough for me - lol).

It was easy enough to do though. I wish I could wire in a switch to do that. Maybe the older boards are different???

I had to have Soundcraft fax me the instructions to solder an 8" wire in each strip. Must've been a *much* older model.

What was the 8" wire for? Switch for each channel, or did you make a global switch?

Switch? It was a *permanent* swap to post-fader. No switches, no jumpers. Not available on that version.

I have the board John is talking about. The wire was to make the meters read post-fader. The stock jumper will switch the meter between channel input or tape input. We thought that was stupid, so we did the mod.

It's NOT inside the meterbridge - it's inside the mixer.

Yup, it's on the channel strips inside the mixer.

I guess I remembered it wrong. I bought an original version of the console and talked to Soundcraft about the mod. But hell, that was in 1997, I could really be remembering stuff wrong!
