Cool help

hi there. I am begining to get slightly confused as to which product i need. Basicly I want to be able to record a full band 4-5 piece. i have cubase and now need a mixer or audio/interface to start recording. I realise that with a audio/interface (alesis io/26) i can assign each instrument to a separate track within cubase. i.e guitar on one track, bass on another and so on. can this also be done with by using a USB mixer?

No. All you will get is a stereo mix of everything youre recording on one track. Mixing boards with firewire will get the job done though.
