how do i BIAMP my hifi speakers?

ok here's the story,

i bought me some hifi speakers, KEFQ15's, and u can use them as "normal" speakers or you can bi-amp them,

now i'm on the hunt for a 'new' (second hand) amp,
the brands i like are luxman, marantz,...


but now i wonder how do i biamp these speakers, can i simply buy an amp that has that typical A/B speaker selection button? and then try to depress both A&B buttons...

or do i need special outputs for this...?

Why do you want to bi-amp them.

You could rewire them so you can bi-amp them.
1 amp would go to the woofer and the other amp would go to the tweeter.
What would you do for the crossover?

I would just keep as is. I see no need to bi-amp a small speaker like that.

Something like KEF is gonna have a fairly well thought out crossover that's been optimized for those drivers. I doubt that you'd end up with better sound ..... quite possible worse.
But if you're determined ..... then you will need an electronic crossover in front of the amps.

are they bi-amp able or bi wire??? the diff is NOT subtle... bi amp eliminates the internal cross over which makes an electronic crossover necessary then uses two amps one for hi and of course low the amps see band limited signals... this is the way big PA's are rigged... bi-wire on the other hand still uses the internal crossover but separates the high and low pass filters... and are driven by two separate full range amps....

i got an old kenwood amp on which you can connect two sets of speakers,
you can choose to listen to both or only A/B,

i think this is the way i connect those speakers then?
all four on one amp

No, you are supposed to have two different amps. You stereo has one stereo amp and a speaker selector. Hooking it up that way would be the same as just not using the bi-wire system.

Not necessarily ..... some of those hi-fi speakers are set up so that you can bi-wire from the same amp ..... they'll have the crossover set up so you can disconnect the hi-pass from the low-pass. The idea being that they won't interact.
If you use two amps it's bi-amping even if you use the crossover in the speaker. It's just not electronically bi-amped because it's using passive crossovers but it's bi-amping nonetheless.

That's insane. electrically, it doesn't matter how far away from the crossovers you split the connection.

I'm just saying what the claims are.
Some of those guys'll use different type cables for the low and hi freqs.
