DBX 1074 QuadGate?

I am looking for noise gate for live applications. Does anyone use this DBX 1074 QuadGate? What are the pros and cons? Thank you.

I've used a Project 1 dbx 274 for a few days. It seemed like a nice box. However, I decided to take it back to the store, in exchange for a sweet 40 year old eko acoustic... Anyway, the 274 is a 4 channel gate. Seemed nice.

I have a few of the DBX 1074 quad gates. They are very decent gates. They do not seem quite as smooth to me as the BSS and Drawmer gates, nor do they offer any "special" features like Drawmers "peak punch" etc... However, they also do not cost as much as these other gates either Be aware though that they are XLR I/O only, so be prepared to purchase some new cables (drop me a line if you need to) because most people do not carry a stock of XLR terminated insert cables with them

Thanks. I am aware of the XLR cables needed for the DBX. These are just regular balanced XLR cables right? I might be able to afford the Drawmer. I think the Peak Punch is a good feature to have.

The Drawmers are excellent units, but the DBX ones aren't bad for gates either
