How do i start my own music production company?
I wanna start my own music production company, a.k.a. makin beats. Is it basically just like starting a record label? I wanna be able to have cats writing checks out to the business, not my name. If you start under a sole proprietorship, can you change to a partnership? I was also thinking about sending some instrumental demo's out to a couple of the companies listed in the music powers book. I'm 21 and it's now or never man. I see alot of folks in the industry are only like 25. I got 4 years to make it happen.
 God willing, less than that! This is my dream. How much do i need to start one up? I know this is alot of questions but i'm ready to do this. Just don't know how.

also check the book store and find the book "How to Launch a Record Label" or "How to Run a Record Label" and it will help you out on getting started.. give me you email address and i will send you this zip file of Industry Info i have..it has a few good tips in it..

in order to have people make checks out to your business name you must go to the county clerks office and get a dba it will cost about 26.00 once it's in the system and you have your copy you are now able to conduct business under that name also keep in mind all of your expenses ex.: equipment gas mileage and stuff like that for tax deductions at the end of the year
