Big Menace got a dope voice, and a really clean flow. He's on point... but he's not spitting anything innovative. There's nothing to keep me interested in what he has to say. It's just all recycled from other already-known artists...

I'm not saying, "don't be commercial" cuz I love the commercial sound. But you can still be commercial and actually speak on something that matters. You feel me?

Yeah, just my typical beef with this industry and the people trying to break in on it. Let's change the game, fam... not continue to perpetuate the stereotypes that plague us.

my question though - is can u give me an example of someone who has made into the game with a "commercial" song, but still did something "different" . . . and i mean someone who has at least "some significant" . . . recognition . . ?

i ask because, i really believe that the only "new" shit in the game is "human beings . . . but everyone is doing pretty much the same thing - but its more the fault of the decision makers than the "wanna-be-artist" folk

for instance, i remember back in the day, when EPMD "broke" das efx - they were different b/c they had a flow that was truly unique - but even they got "played" after their commercial smash n people said it was a weak gimmick

people say kanye changed the game - but did he? he certainly changed or helped to change what type of beats people aspire to make - UPNORTH - but lyrically - i dont think he changed anything - he certainly made a name for himself and he did it by sticking to the principles of hip hop - originality and creativity - but i dont think he has "changed" the game - he just made a damm good name for himself as em cee

I like the beat to I came I saw. No disrespect to the others though, just not my type of beats. Are you sending your beats to people online and they are recording at their spots? I noticed the quality differs from song to song.

If they make your head nod that all that matters.Even the young folks know if they don't like something.It was the same back in the day and it will continue as long as the poverty pimps keep seeing that we can make them some money.Its not really in our control.Every person is a product of their environment.We rap, produce, and conduct ourselves based on that.There are alot of people that can relate to whatever we do some where in this world.We like to think that our lives are so different.Its really just the same events happening in different orders.You make your music how you want and don't worry about changing the whole culture.It shouldn't have to be thought about cus it'll happen.Adapt.

Change, I feel what you're sayin' on that. You can rip some commercial shit and then flip something different on it. I mean, that's what I try to do....make something entertaining while not going the dumbed down method, simply because I hate that shit. When I get all of this shit done, it's about to be open collab time cause this is how I deal with my probs and I got boulders on my back and shit on my chest.
