Never used battery 2 but from my research personaly, there really isn't a way to change the pitch without changing the tempo (or none that I know of). Thats just how things are. But, what I will do sometimes, is if I want a sample a different pitch I will change the pitch in sound forge and then time stretch it back to its origional timing. But time stretching only works to an extent, and it may skrew up your sample prety bad if you over use it.

You can easily change the pitch without affecting the tempo in most programs, I use audition but have seen it done in cubase sx3 and acid.
It's called a time stretch, in audition you can adjust the pitch and keep the same tempo. After applying too much it starts sounding nasty, and not in a good way. Cubase's pitch shift works the same way and from what I remember it's a lot more stable than Auditions (meaning you can push it more). Battery should have the same feature I suppose, maybe under a different name or something. |
