All I know is that it's expensive. So, it must be good right?

They were fine mixers back in the day. Most of them are old enough to be temperamental, make sure you have a good tech.

What would you like to know about the Scorpion? Is this an 8 or a 16 buss you are asking about? Or is it a monitor desk? There were many different versions. There is also the Scorpion 2 series as well. I have owned a couple of Scorpions over the years. If you are looking to purchase a 32 channel 8 buss, I would not pay more than about $2000 for it assuming it is in "decent" condition. Parts are still readily available for Scorpions and they are pretty easy to work on. Most of them will have metering problems with LED's that will not shut off, and the power supplies are a little sketchy. Unless it has recently been serviced, expect that you will have to clean all of the pots and faders and maybe even replace a few of them.

thanks.......Trying to see if worth buying

Got it for 1000.00...Def has dirty pots and LED's are very sketchy...Someone mentioned the British pre's in there....Simi close to Neve at all?

I also have a Mackie 32/8 which has been a great work horse for me....Which is better to you geru's out there???

Thanks

Well, the Tac Scorpion is really nothing like a true neve console. Rupert Neve did not have as much to do with the design as people might want to think, and even the stuff he did was not intended to be like the old neve stuff anyhow.

I would take a Scorpion any day of the week over any Mackie.
