Trouble with DP?

Hey guys, I just got the universal binary upgrade for Digital Performer 5 and it has really been acting up. The program seems to peak my CPU spontaneously and it regularly crashes. I was wondering if anyone else has been having trouble with DP 5.1?

Yep, I'm on a macbook pro using DP 5.1. It is absolutely ridiculous...constantly crashing. Practically a joke. Motu is supposedly working on a fix (5.1.1), but it is honestly like they didn't even test the code for 5.1. Oh, and that fix, they've been working on it for months! Who knows when it will come out. This isn't a rare problem at all either! Over at unicornation there has been a thread going on for months about the embarrassment that is DP 5.1.

It probably wont do any good, but I think I'm going to demand a refund from Motu. I mean, this is just ridiculous. Crashes every five minutes on most user's systems warrants a recall. I essentially view it as false advertisement, motu says the program is universal binary compatible, but in reality it is absolute trash.

I deeply regret every buying my macbook pro. The thing is hardly compatible with anything, and really freakin' expensive. Fast? Yes, but what good is it if i can't use it with anything? Software companies are reluctant to release universal binary patches, but they have no problem advertising their product as osx compatible on the box. You have to go dig around their website to find out the stuff isn't intel compatible. I'm still waiting for the update on Kontakt 2. Hopefully it will come out in a few days.

So yeah, I'm just a little bitter . But hey, can you blame me? Right now I have a $3,000 word processing POS sitting on my desk. But hey...those intel macs are bitchin' fast. Too bad they can't run shit.

My MacBook Pro runs my stuff just fine. Logic, Bias Peak, Antares plugs, etc. Blame DP if you need to, but the MacBook is a nice unit.
