Virtual Amps?

anybody know if there are any good free 'virtual amps' that you can download. especially if theres one with wierd effects

You should download simulanalog guitarsuite. It's free and actually really usable.
download it from here:

nice one. i got the plugins but i have no idea how to use them.
i put them into that vstplugin folder (whatever that is) but now what do i do?

You need a VST Host app, like FLStudio or something. Then using the app, you can use the plugin.

Ableton is another good one. Ableton will actually let you use plugins live and hear the effect realtime, while you strum your guitar plugged into the computer.

There is a freeware called VSTHOST. check out http://www.kvraudio.com/get/300.html

There is also a freeware multitracking app called Kristal Audio, which has a "LiveIn" option that'll let you host VSTs and play an instrument thru them realtime.
