Signal Chain from Live Room

This sort of belongs here but sort of not so bear with me.
From the sound room I have belden C2 shielded coming into the control room. 8 of these are XLR inputs from the sound room. The others will be TS and/or TRS (I also ran C4 shielded) for stereo headphone mixes and direct HiZ inputs. In the control room I have (2) ART Pro's and (1)MPA Gold. Final destination is Project Mix. Am I better off dedicating (4) inputs in the sound room to my nicer condensors and the outboard pres and not running through an XLR patchbay (ie signal loss)? Is the loss that great? I'd like to avoid plugging and unplugging all the time. Or should I patchbay all 8 inputs for more flexibilty.

did any of this make sense?

Run everything thru your patch bay (don't use TRS for mics tho, phantom power does NOT like to be plugged/unplugged with power on) and keep your connectors clean. Google Caig Labs, and "go for the gold" (or regular) DeOxit, and you'll be phat... Steve
