Auralex mopads?

Well, multiple people have told me I should get Auralex mopads for my monitors. But I have a couple of questions. Do they make a big enough difference to be worth $35? Also, I'm curious about the angle of them. My monitors will be on the same flat surface as my computer monitor and my mixer, but the mopads would put them at an angle...would this affect the sound and the way I hear them? I'm just wondering b/c I thought it might alter the sound of them if they're angled up/down instead of flat.

1. Absolutely in my case. Best small ticket item I've ever purchased for my studio. If nothing else, they isolate the vibration I used to feel when I leaned on my desk. However, they seem to keep the desk from resonating as well.

2. They come with an additional piece of foam which can be used to increase the forward angle or reversed to allow your monitors to sit flat. If your monitors need to lean back you will have to turn the pads with the logos facing the rear.

YMMV...

if they are angles up the sound will be going to your ears rather then your chest. id receomend buildign some speaker stands, if you made them yourself they'd probably cost you 35$ which is the same as mopads.

So if I ordered a pair of M-Audio BX5A monitors from zZounds, they come with Mopads. That means they'll come with the piece of foam to make them flat? Or would you suggest putting them backwards so they face my ears?

Unless you're mixing for porn, in which case you want them pointed at your nurtz.

So would I want them flat/level or would I want them angled at my eyes/ears?

You want them angled towards your head and ears, no matter if they are pointing up, straight ahead, or down.
