Poor man's Reamping?

So I've been trying to figure out how to set up my system for reamping without spending $200.

First, I'd heard that using a non-bypass stompbox would correct impedances, which I'm still not sure about, and then I tried the reverse-DI thing. The passive Rapco db100 I used has a ground lift jack , but I'm still getting buzz. Bought a little ground loop isolator, which cut MOST of the buzz, but also picked up radio signals!

I'm running Vegas (very underrated for both audio and video...) through a Gina 24 analog out. I can cut the volume so that's not an issue, but other than that I'm not sure what to do.

Please tell me there's SOME way to run a signal out that I can put into my amp, without dropping a ton of cash!

thanks, all.

Oh, and I'd just like to mention that I've looked all over the web and in a few books, but I can't find an answer to this specific problem. I've tried running at +4 and -10, as well as the other stuff I mentioned, but I can't get rid of the buzz. I'm pretty sure it's ground loop-related since it doesn't change no matter what is happening in the box.

Yeah, I don't have a lot of experience with that. The one time I tried soldering was terrible, and I don't know schematics at all- not that I'm against learning, mind you.

BTW- today I had a breakthrough- I pulled out a custom-made cord (Robert Braught, KTS Eudora, KS- the man!) with a 30 db pad that I used to use to run one amp hot into another. Ran that out of my breakout box backwards into a passive DI with ground lift and it worked like a charm.
I had thought simply lowering gain would work, but that didn't affect buzz at all.
Still experiment w/ +4, -10, preamps, etc. Signal doesn't QUITE match guitar straight into amp, but that's what I get for not spending the $200.

The passive DI box in reverse should be your best bet. Have you tried swapping around where your gear is plugged in or trying to isolate where your ground loop is coming from so you can remedy it?
