Misplaced Virtual Tracks?

Oi! My reggae band did a smokin' track last night at my house, and I need to know the answers to these simple questions- and I realize I should know them, but they are addressed in the manual in such a way that I find them obscure items:

How do I name my virtual tracks, so I can "keep track" of them...?

If I want to record more than 6 tracks, and keep my original tracks, how do I do this? Along this line, if I bounce my tracks, do I still have the original tracks?

I have misplaced a drum overhead track- the left side. I ended up landing the bass track in it's place, and now can't find the left side drum overhead. When a (virtual) track disappears, does it scroll down to the bottom of the virtual track list? Does it still exist on my 788?

I'm sorry, I know these might be "in the manual", but I'm having a hard time discerning them! Also, last night I reached my reasonable limit after a day of the band tracking a new tune. I'm going back today to give it a fresh look.

Thanks for your help.

I know it's in poor taste, but I'm replying to my own post:

I have not spent nearly enough time with this thing (I'm skipping an exteneded-family re-union today so I can get it together!). But, I have found my tracks! It seems I traded tracks between the OH left and the Bass. I fixed it, and have got the virtual track/bouncing procedures more or less tight now.

Sorry to be an evident waste of time... but here's one more- if I may tax you one more time again:

I have several takes of our tune in one session- the last 5 or so minutes out of around 15 minutes represents the 'keeper'. I want to save the 'keeper' part to wav files on CD, and I have the Tascam-approved burner. Do I have to edit out ('cut') the material from the session/tracks that I don't want, if I don't want them on the wav files CD? Or is it possible to save the 'keeper' parts of these 6 recorded tracks as virtual tracks, re-name them, and then burn just those to CD? Thus leaving the old takes unmolested- just in case we want to listen to them again?

This is something I don't specifically see in the manual. I think I can do this, but I'm just shooting at it, in case an answer pops up.
