Question

Hi there. I recorded 4 tracks of guitars on a song while listening the midi (drums and bass). When i recorded the midi to audio noticed it was slightly out of sync. Any thoughts? I have a SB 1024 Pentium III 450mhz 128 ram. Another thing, is it normal to have 750 latency whith multimedia driver and 204 whith directx ? Thanks in advance

latency

hi there. I had/have the same problem. I also have the 1024 card and when running with cubase 3.7 there was always this latency problem. It`s become a kind of quest to conquer it.
I`ve now got a sw1000xg card and am getting cubase 5 so hopefully I can move on. I`ve been told that latency is in the sound card. 750 ms is what you get with the 1024 but there are ways round it. I tried using the delay function in cubase which worked to a point. I`ve been advised to monitor at source, which I havn`t quite figured out yet.
If you emerge victorious I`d love to know how. good luck.

Hi guys,
I have had cubase for about 2 years and have had latency problems from day 1.What I usually do is record all my tracks then go back to each one and kick it back and fourth in the audio editor using the little foot set at 2pp.I do this while listening to my first track and sync all the others to it.Hope this helps.
Good luck

which soundcard

Hi, I`ve just got the Yami sw1000xg. It`s got a great sound library and some great effects, you can also apply these effects, of which there are loads, to your line or mic inputs. I`m still setting up so I can`t yet recomend the card wholeheartidly. I read a sound card review/roundup in future music magazine where this card was praised as it seems to be widely, but the Pulsar 2 took the biscuit, but at loads of money..... good hunting my friend!
