Yeah N-Track

I think it's cool that an independent guy can put out an app like this that costs nothing, or practically nothing if you choose to register it, and have it work so well.

Never had a problem with it, even running a gazillion plugs.

I use the 24 bit version, and use it mostly for mixing on my laptop.

I agree Tim...it is extremely intuitive and is very suited to my requirements. I'm looking forward to version 5 that is due in September. My hopes are that it will address some of the minor annoyances.

But for $79 for a 24 bit sequencer with a load of features…it’s an awesome product. GO FLAVIO!!!!

And I'm just using v 3.3

Never saw a need to update it, since it does exactly what I want already.

i betting its my computer but sometimes when I'm tracking I get little chunks missing from my track. While its actually recording I can see the gap but then after I press stop it smushes it all together. It's really annoying especially because I have to go back and do it again. I have the program running on high priority too. I have a pentium 4 2.02 ghz, 60 gb hd, 512MB RAM and am using a m-audio firewire interface. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Are you running with AISO drivers? If so, then try WDM.

Yeah I'm running with ASIO drivers but shouldn't n-track and my computer handle that? The driver's work fine in other programs.

oddly enough, i found that i had less crashes and weird things happening when i set the program priority to normal insted of high. I made a couple of other changes though, so i'm not sure what had teh positive effect.

I've just recently started using N-Track's volume envelopes. I do mainly solo guitar and had kind of stayed away from dynamics-altering editing. Right now I'm working on a solo track that's lacking in loud/soft variety in the phrasing and the volume envelopes are proving very useful.

Exclamation Hey Tim

What are your laptop/interface specs?

If you recommend it, that's pretty much good enough for me. You're one of the few people I would trust almost blindly, because you've got the goods to back it up.

Just thought I would shoot in here. I a still using a 24 bit version of 2.2, yeah it's a dinosaur. My problem is that when i get demo's of the newer versions, they seem to work very poorly. They don;t handle as many tracks and sometimes the response is very slow and choppy, any ideas? I am not complaining as I am pretty happy with 2.2 and it does what i need, but I have heard that the functions in the newer version are superior.

It's just a stock Dell Inspiron 5150. Pentium 4, 3 gHz, 512 MB memory, XP Home, Service Pack 2. Playback through a VXPocket PCMCIA card, though the stock soundcard sounds surprisingly good.

I've found v.5 to be very stable and it has a ton of stuff I want to explore. I learned this stuff on v.3x, v.4x and now v.5. While I also use Reaper and love it, I'm keeping n-track updated and active. Flavio has earned the red carpet treatment around here as far as I can figure.

I've kept up to date as far as version registration, but I haven't used v4 on my main DAW.I installed it once(early 4)had some serious issues that ruined my workflow and went back to 3.3.
I recon I'll upgrade to 5 and mess with it on the family computer to see if there's any reason to upgrade from 3.3.
