Tascam 424MK3 / Prob with open E bass
Any suggestions on how I can tame an open E string on my bass geetar?
Im recording a Latin feel tune, and the bass line incorporates a continuous open E string and Im running it through a POD / Pod clean / compressor settings. I guess I can add some high eq, but Im new at this and trying to stay away from eq during tracking. The E string is muddy and smothers everything. thanks |

Honestly, just EQ it. EQ is a natural part of sound; you shouldn't be afraid to use it. Perhaps if you mic your bass amp (if you have one) you could adjust the parameters there.
Do you have a clip of the song you could upload? |

When tracking, cut the lows on your bass, and record flat- or even with highs pushed a bit. Add lows later, when you mix- and you'll be surprised! Boom! And no mud.
