Patterns in Fruity Loops

Hello,

I'm trying to create beats using FL Studio 6. I have a few questions.
1) How can I make triplets for hihats and toms?
2) If I have measures for 4 beats, 3 beats, and 2 beats, how do I put them together without there being free space in the playlist bars?

A quick but pain in the ass answer to #1 is to increse the bpm and space your beats out more, then you can plug in thrplets just by hitting thee beats in a row (that might sound confusing as hell, but I can't seem to find better words to explain it). That's how I usually do it, but I'm sure there's a much better way.

When I tried doing this the tempo was no longer standard. Is there a way to make it match to the standard?

if u wanna do that, i assume u have to double tha tempo (example: if wanna do a 100 BPM song, adjust it to 200)

a better way it think, is to right click that drum and go into tha edit mode... then you can adjust them to 32nd sizes and do it like that.

I have not used it in a long time but I think you can change the beats per bar.

one more question: if you make drums in FL and import them into ProTools should you mix them in FL and bring the complete stereo track into protools or import each track seperately and mix them in protools?

Yeah, thats right.

If you look up the top of the fruity screen you will see the 'Recording Panel'. The recording panel has metronome/midi settings on it aswell as a setting called 'Snap' that defaults to Line or (none).

If you click on Line/None then you can change the snap settings. For example, for triplets you may want to set the snap setting to '1/3 beat' or '1/6 beat'.

Now if you go into the piano roll tool you will see that the grid is split into triplets and any notes you place will 'snap' to the setting you chose.

I understand that my question can sound really stupid,but may be someone can help me. I just made my first drums Playlist, and somehow tutorials were not helpful. Now, do I use plugins in Channel Settings or in the Mixer, what is the difference?

I don't really understand what you're saying. You may want to reword your question.

To use an effector plugin you click on the channel properties and select a mixer channel in the top right hand corner.

Now go to the mixer and select the channel in the mixer that you just chose for your channel.

Now select an effect.

Play the song. You should see the peak meters rise and fall on that mixer track and the instrument should be effected.

I just found how to do triplets. Go to options-- Project general settings-- time signature, and set bar -4, beat- 3. I exported each track separately into Protools. To do so you just have to mute all other tracks. FL will export the track that will be playing. Now I have to put effects. Can somebody give me a simple advice how to get a good sound
