Audio for Animation?

Okay, I know absolutely nothing about recording, but I want to get some equipment to record a couple different characters having a conversation, so I can do a flash animation to it. (Up until now, I've always used mp3's and wav files off the internet.) I am assuming my idea would include maybe 2 microphones, but I really don't know anything more than that. What do I need to buy to let me do this project without it sounding like I used a fischer price recorder? I'm on a really limited budget, so the simpler and cheaper the solution, the better.

Thanks!

-Andrew

Depending on if your soundcard is acceptable, if all you are using it for is voice overs then I would just get a decent dynamic mic plug it into the sound card and call it a day. Use cool edit or something to work on the audio.... just a cheap idea.

Do they have splitters for that kind of thing? I am hoping to maybe let the two people speak at the same time, but have each voice on its own track.
