Cubase/Reason ReWire Drum Sequencer Latency

I'm am using Reason and Cubase in ReWire for drum sequencing, yet am finding it difficult to produce loops as the latency makes it unable for me to hear the drum loop. The timings can vary everytime i press play. Does anyone know a solution ot this???

Thanks in advance

You might need to give some more details. Are you using a midi controller to create the loops, creating the loops in an editor, or using pre-programmed loops? Cubase does have a couple of MIDI glitches that I know of. Is this problem only during playback?

I'm creating my loops on Cubases GM Map Drum editor - you know where u snap on the diamond shapes on the grid to the beat and instrument u want... and basically using reason purely for the patch samples. Hope this is explained properly - i'm new to cubase. Yes, the problem only happens during playback. Thanks!

try this. start a new project. go to Devices, Device Setup, Direct Music, uncheck/recheck (yes!) Use System Timestamp. now create your loop in the drum editor.

if that does it for you, repeat this at the start of every session that will involve midi. i've found that this works with existing sessions too but you will have to re-program or perform your midi parts after you go thru that little routine.
