Designing a studio

I'm on the part of the studio where I need to buy a nice mic now. I want to spend $300 on mic that sound very clear and clean I am going to record rap vocals through the mic.

To get good useful answers we need a bit more detail, so heres a few questions:
what environment are you recording in?
do you have a sample of your voice we can hear to give us and idea?
what other equipment do you have/plan to have?
is it just you that will record or do you plan to record other people?

The studio is in room up stairs in my house. I'm going to record through the computer. planning to buy a mic, 2 head phones, mic stand, reflection filter or some absorber to make sound clearer, mic filter, mic peramp, record from sonar 5 with plugins. I'm doing rap music. And possibly I would bring in other people.
