Fostex A8 Track 7 Out

Anybody (Dave) or anyone, know why track 7 might not be working? It appears to get a signal going in but doesn't playback, no meter playing back & no sound. Just wondering if there might be an easy solution or if it is a common failure. I've already checked the playback/record cal settings and they seem to be up. At one time it looked like track seven was picking up signal from track 3, as it shouldn't have, like it was bleeding over, but know it's not doing anything at all.

I had a problem with the a8 before where it was slowing down, I thought the motor was going but it turned out the reel table had drifted so far in it was slowing down the pick up reel. I had to go in and tap forward the little cylinders that the reel turns in, and now it seems to be working good except track seven.

Clean the head, check for any loose wires, reseat the card & cable for track 7. What I remember of Fostexes is that the head wires are hard wired to the interconnect board. It may be a situation right for signal chasing with a scope!

PS: Maybe try swapping the track 7 card for another card that works.
