AEL is on a distinguished road
It is a great unit. I use mine all the time. A real workhorse. It doesn't do everything, but what it does, it does well.

It's GREAT!!. Probably my most dependable and easiest piece of gear to use. Some people knock the A/D converter in it, but it sounds good to me.

It's great for storage, archiving, as a mixdown unit, and I think some of the mastering stuff you can do with it is pretty good. I especially like the ability to change the volume/level of a track by as little as +/- .1 db!! Some people also like the limiter a lot, but I don't use it much. Most people don't like the compressor much, but I'm sure it's useful for certain things.

Also, if you're into recording 24/96 projects you can store a 24/96 song on a CD!! You can of course generate regular red book CD's.

It's really cool as a live to 2-track option. Would be even cooler if it had punch-in capablility.

See if you can find a used one for $500. That would be AWESOME!!

I concur. Great little unit. Every studio should have one. (I wish I had my own personal unit)
