DOH!!!!!!! A Homer Moment.

So I'm getting ready to track lead vox on one of my demo's. I get averything ready, Mic, cable, stand, mixer, take a pee etc...When I start recording, mic level is all screwey...lo level, weird reverb, rumbly background. So I recheck everything, O.K....I turn up the levels so I can hear it in my headphones better and press the go button. My dog is in the basement with me, as usual, lying on the floor in the corner. Suddenly he barks....The 'phones go flying as i rip'em off my ears....now I have figured out what was wrong with my setup....the mic was backwards in the holder and I'm singing into the wrong side. Front is facing the corner and dog. I'm done for the day...my tinnitus (sp?) went nuts for a couple of hours....OK today. Lesson of the day...Wear your glasses when setting up.

...then I guess there's the one where you're trying to dial in that last 10% of quality sweetness...only to find out that that great sound you got is in your imagination since the EQ is in Bypass
