New Maple Kit

Finally got my new kit last night! I'm pretty stoked!

Had just enough time to set them up before I went to bed. Didn't get a chance to tune the toms yet, but kick and snare sound pretty amazing so far!

Can't wait to get home, get 'em tuned up and play!

After months of research (and saving up the cash), I ended up ordering a Studio Maple kit from Taye. I chose the sizes so I could set up either a fusion set up or more of a rock set up, depending on what the sessions call for:

18x22 bass drum
16x16 floor tom
11x14 floor/rack tom
9x12 rack tom
8.5x10 rack tom
6x14 maple snare
4x10 stainless steel snare

I'm really digging the hardware so far. Instead of getting the hardware pack, I put together my own package for up to 8 cymbals (with only 2 floor stands!). I've got plenty of floor space now.

The finish is called Burgundy Red. Taye's web site doesn't really show you just how beautiful the finishes are! I took a quick pic with my phone but I'll have more pics after the weekend.
