Arrow George Harrison's Tascam Portastudio 244

http://www.maverick-music.com/script...?idproduct=940

George Harrison's Tascam Portastudio 244 - Yes, another artifact from George Harrison. This is George's own personal Tascam 244, delivered directly to him by Tascam. Any handwriting expert will confirm that the handwriting on the channel faders is that of George Harrison (we are talking GH the EX Beatle! not any old George H!).

The unit was supplied to George's studio at Friar Park, Henley on Thames. It was immediately transferred for use in the USA, George eventually moved the unit to his home on Maui, it was used as a song writing tool by George. Just to head off a few questions by our regulars, yes we would be happy to submit the unit to a handwriting expert for verification. No, we do not know if George's fingerprints are still on there, i personally would assume so.

Anyone willing to pay for these tests please contact us we are more than willing, this is a piece of Rock n Roll history & is unrepeatable!

PRICE AVAILABLE BY REQUEST ONLY!!

Another interesting find Reel

When was the 244 introduced?
I wonder what tunes he might have put together on it.

Pretty cool!

Yeah, 1982 is right even though the TASCAM website says 1984. When I bought my 144 new in 1982 I got a good discount because the 244 was shipping. I ended up with the 244 in 1985 but traded that up to the 246 a year later. Ah, the memories.

That was a somewhat dead period in Harrison's history, though I don't think you can blame it on the 244. He blew all his saved-up Beatles'-era material and ideas in the '70s. In the '80s, I think he was more into movies, at least until the Traveling Wilburys (released 1988). It is, I suppose, possible that some of the Wilburys material started out on the 244.

Arrow Cloud 9 (1986)....

was a huge hit!! Not exactly a "void" of albums or material in the 80's!
