Pre-Master File/Track Naming

This should be easy - and yes i've read the manuals - just not getting it! I'm renaming my project in Nuendo so i am not touching the "original mixdown" - i am then trying to "pre-master" using Ozone on the mixdown version but i want to create a completely different file/track to work on and re-name it. When i try to copy or rename in the Pool Nuendo also renames the original track. I can only rename a seperate stereo track if i "process" something and then "freeze Edit" followed by "creating new file" and i don't think i should have tp "process" anything - all i want is to listen to CD versions of various "pre-masters" -- am i making sense? can someone show me the way? thanks - locosan --our band is called the Texas Thorns
