Pops

Hey guys, I'm having trouble recording two mono tracks at the same time in Cubase SE3 with my tascam US 122. Every 10 - 15 seconds it pops. I bought a cheap mini-mixer for fun, and the sound actually come sout great were it not for the pops...theyre infrequent but annoying as hell.

Is this a latency problem? Im recording with the ASIO 16-bit diver. Or is it something to do with my sound sources or compression unit? Any adice would be great, I spent alot of money on gear today and the thought of it not working makes me feel sick!

I would suspect the cheap mixer-does it have a headphone out jack you can monitor it with as you play something into it? Try different channels on it to try to isolate which one might be the bad channel, its probably bad connection or component in there-good luck!

It's probably a buffer problem and you need to set the buffers higher which will result in more latency but if you monitor direct that shouldn't be an issue.

On your audio system setup make sure you have the Asio Multimedia driver and not the directX. Go to the Asio control panel and Advanced options and check and sync the buffers for each port and then run a simulation. If that passes you should be good to go.

Sorry i was under the impression the mutimedia driver was bad....as opposed to 16 or 24 bit ASIO. I already adjusted the latency on my Tascam US 122.
