When I play the patches of my JV1080 in multi timbral mode, they sound very different than when I play them in patch mode. How can I get the normal patch sound in multi mode? Any suggestions?m Any input would be appreciated. Thanx.......

One suggestion is that they all may be routed thought the multieffects of the multi instead of their individual patch effects. Each individual patch is programmed with reverb, chorus and insert effects. Those effects have to be stretched when all 16 parts are using them. You may have to record the voices individually, switching to the patch effects for each patch as you record this part. Let us know if that is not the problem.

Its all to do with the effects section so I you go to the effects section (PERFORMANCE EFX TYPE) and select in the (Sorce PERFORMANCE) channel 1-16. Thats say you have a realy good sound on ch 1 but sounds better in the patch mode by selecting ch 1 as above it will copy the efx that was originaly with ch 1 sound that was in patch mode.
The only real pain is that you have this effect over all 16
channels. What I do is convert my MIDI track into audio in cubase and apply effects to it there you can get much better sounds this way.

The day there is a keyboard synth that has 128 poly and 32 parts with 5 efx to each channel I will and many others will be over joyed! till then good luck.

To cut out all the B/S, this is what I do. I use Cubase. Ok? So, I know its a little cumbersome, but, I record each track at a time as a sequence, then convert it straight to an audio track with the effect. But I only do that for patches that are programed with effects that I like. The ones that arent that big of a deal, I'll record them in Performance mode, then use Cubase for the effects.

Later,
Mike
