Cool

Check out the threads on Guitar to MIDI converters. Once your note information has been encoded to MIDI, there's no limit to the sounds that can be obtained from a guitar. A cute feature of guitar to MIDI pickups is that they also are ordinary guitar pickups so you can blend the actual sound of the guitar with the synth sound or just go pure synthetic.

Go for any of the Roland guitar synths. They will make your guitar sound like a piano, sax, trumpet or whatever the heck you want it to sound like.
