Audio dropouts
Hey Everyone, Did anyone ever have a problem of seeing the track levels jump, but not hearing them? I see all the drums, guitar, and bass tracks, and hear them too, but then there is this weird click and there is no audio. I look at the master fader and there are no levels. Sometimes i have to restart the project, and other times it comes back after a minute. I think it might be the fact that i am using the guitar rig 2 plugin, cause when i dont use it, it seems to be ok. I am also trying to record at 24/96. Anyone know why this happens?

I have a similair occurance when using LE on my laptop. Im pretty sure it is because the hard drive is directly connected to the motherboard, because when used my FW drive instead, it had none. The audio was never compromised, just pops in playback. This sound right to you?
I guess I would want to know more about your DAW.....

It could be numerous things. How many audio tracks are you running? *As far as I understand* (I use mostly MIDI, not audio), a modern hard disk on a recent PC will bum out generally at around 50 tracks, half of that or less if you're doing 24/96. How much memory do you have? Guitar Rig 2 could be eating up memory, and so Windows has to use the HD for temp memory, which can bugger things up.
There are experts on here that can give you better answers than that, but for what it's worth that's my opinion... ![]()

Ya guys thanks. I do havr these problems. I usually run about 10 tracks of audio at 24/96. I think i might just go back to back to 24/44.1, because I get too many problems while running in 96k. I heard that there might not be a noticiable difference anyway. And guitar rig does eat up space, i was using it for a bass amp because i couldnt get a good sound from my amp, but i am working on it. I am using a Dell Inspiron 6000. That could the problem in itself. So far, it looks like i have to make some changes in the program itself, and record as i usually did.
