Question Best for sharing mp3 webs?

I have seen many people online post their clips and songs. I am trying to avoid the least advertising stuff, and wonder what you guys think about places like MySpace, soundclick, etc.

What's the easiest and least problematic to refer to people I want for them to check out?

Thanks,

TRD

lightningmp3.com provided by our own NL5

that site doesn't compress the audio even worse like MySpace or Soundlick might.

I've been thinking about paying for my own website.

I would try to make it very simple so that anyone can click on a song title and play it.

I don't really like all the advertising on soundclick...pop ups etc.

Anyway, it would cost me. I use soundclick. It's ok.

I use my own webspace for most of my stuff....costs me $4.99 a month. I have a soundclick and Nowhere page, and also have used NL5's site. Just depends on what you want.

My website costs me 19.99 a month. I can upload up to 1000mgs. It was so easy to put together. The webmasters are musicians. They designed it for bands and made everything extremely user friendly. You can click on my link to see my site, or go to www.bandzoogle.com to see sample websites and all the templates. I think the first month is free.

I guess the next step would be if I already have my own website and I want to upload clips, I'm not sure how to do it. Another example would be let's say on eBay- I'm selling a guitar and I want to leave a 30 second clip to show that it's intonated, etc. What's the easiest way? Hopefully, this is part of the same question

There is no easy answer to this question. Each web host is using their own software for creating the websites and each has different little steps to take for posting.

If you want to know how to post on Ebay then you need to read up on their posting rules and use their user interface.

If you want to create your own website then you need either user friendly software which some sites will provide to you or better yet you could learn how to program in HTML(hyper text markup language) which is simple at first and will answer probably 90% of your web questions.

I would like to register my own .com site...but costs are a bit much. $240 aus to register the name. Then something like $250 aus for a year.

I just don't know if I have that kind of coin right now.

I could wait til I am a bit more wealthy.

But I'd like my own .com site where visitors would not have to have any special requirements to listen to songs. Just click and play.

Here is what eBay sent to me::::::::

Dear eBay member,

Thank you for writing to us. I appreciate the opportunity to assist you
with your question.

I understand from your email that you have a musical instrument. You
wish to include a short sound clip for the potential buyers to hear the
actual sound. You wish to seek further advise in this regards. I will be
glad to guide you in this matter.

You can certainly list the musical instrument on eBay, with a short clip
for potential buyers to hear the actual sound.

Please understand that eBay is only a venue where buyers and sellers
come together and online transactions take place. eBay is actually not
involved in any transactions. Hence, I am sorry to state, but I will not
be able to provide you the HTML codes in this regards.

However, you can consider to seek advise from a software professional in
this regards.

Another alternative is to check the eBay's HTML discussion board.

With regards to showing MP3, I am ready to help you with this issue, but
for me to help, I need you to send in more information. This will help
me answer your question correctly. Please send back a detailed
explanation of your problem and I will reply to you very quickly. I am
sorry for the delay caused to you in this regards.

Please be noted that there are no additional charges in this regards.

If you have any further queries, then please do not hesitate to get back
to us. I will be pleased to help you further in this situation.

We appreciate your patience and understanding regarding this matter, and
wish you continued success on eBay.

Sincerely,
Agatha B.

SOOOOO...

Basically I sounds like if I make a 30 second clip then I should post the link to my listing on eBay and then upload it to my own website? Is it going to be simpler than going to Pro Tools and take the session and change it to iTunes and then turn it to mp3 and then uploading to my website?

Geez it seems like it should be easier than this. Your continued help is appreciated...

WOW! Why are websites so expensive in Australia?

I pay $10 USD per year for my domain name and $30 USD per year for my webspace.

Soundclick

Soundclick is free and very user friendly (the administration page). Depending on how serious you want to be, keep visiting other people's site's and see which one you like best.
