Doom for rappers.

I stated this before but if this generation gets a taste of beats that they feel don't need an MC on them.It could be some trouble. The content of some rappers lyrics, the image that some are glamourizing even if they say they just talking about real life, may give way to what I believe may be they equal to jazz and classical music for our generation.I myself wouldn't mind this because I have impressionable kids.I really think that if we don't get a hold of our music it will change drastically in a way that we may not like.

Reek Brock, I do agree.
If I had any formal classical training, I'd be making orchestrated pieces. I've made a few instrumentals that leave no room for a MC/Singer (I and most real music lovers love em too), Issac Hayes kinda had the same thing going on with his music. Some of his stuff had very little singing on it if any, and that's some of my favorite stuff. If any of yall never really checked out Issac Hayes music do it! This dude is sick with his instrumentation (is that even a word?). But yeah hip-hop sux now (damn I wish I could sing...lol), like dead prez said "TURN OFF THAT BULLS*IT!".

They try to say hip-hop doesn't influence kids, it's the parents. That's BS because hip-hop's been around long enough now that the parents are listening to it too, the irresponsible parents are just as easily influenced as the kids by the music. So how can the blind lead the blind? (Hell, the seeing eye dog probably listens to hip-hop too!)
That's actually why I posted that thread earlier today, though I found it funny it's actually true. Ask a teenager who thinks 50 cent is the best rapper of all time who Rakim is, you'll get "who?"

I see why so many people on this forum hates hip-hop and I can't blame them.

I dunno. My kids are gonna be thoroughly schooled. Good post RB.

It already has. That happened when "crunk", "snap", and "hyphy" music were invented.

I agree and I dont agree...........

i could see a revolution of a type where u have just beats with no lyrics but at the same time even tho the contents changed i dont thing the reason for hip hop going down was the crunk and hyphy movement...... if u think about it this new brand of hip hop, tho not nearly as lyrically based is closer to old school hip hop then the gangsta rap that took over in the 1990's......... its all about partyin and havin a good time i think as long as people like havin fun that brand of hip hop will be around.....

that being said i think everything is a cycle and sooner or latter something new and better will come around that changes the game..... when in reality it will be something old that was just remixed
