Cool

Hey,

I have cakewalk 9.01 and I am having trouble with it... I have used it before for many years and different versions. Okay here is the problem...

Everytime I go into the piano roll window it opens completely zoomed out, unable to see velocities on the bottom and generally not configured well... so then I have to zoom in and lift up the skirt to see the velocities and move other things around....this wouldn't be a big deal if I only had to do this once per session, but I have to do it EVERYTIME! It get's tedious with many tracks to do this with....

This is not how is worked with other versions or on other computers.... It reminds me of when a program's ini file or config file is read only..... Anybody else have this problem?? What can I do?

Thanks

Yes I know this problem, the only advise I can give is not to close it but just minimize it.

This is just a guess, as I don't use the Piano Roll window. However, what resolution do you have your monitor set at? I had lots of problems with things fitting on the CW screen until I changed my monitor setting to 1024 X 768.

If you have it set to a lower resolution, try changing it to the above and see if that helps.

Angry

Hey guys,

I tried the monitor idea but seeing that I have cakewalk on the computer next to me running fine it might be a bad install or something........ Thanks for the tips....didn't know if there was an easy fix.....seems like there isn't.

Lightbulb

I had this exact same problem w/ the audio window. I wanted it set at a specific zoom level and the zero crossing button on by default. I would set it as I wanted it and then close the window and save the file, expecting it would open that way from that point on. However it always reverted to bogus settings. I went through 3 sets of undies trying to figure it out. Finally, I found that somehow another audio window had been opened and moved to the very edge of the screen so that only a sliver of it was visible, and then it had been tucked under the clips view where I never checked.
Every time I closed Cakewalk, this hidden window was still open with the bogus settings, making them the default for the next audio view instance. After I finally dicovered it by accident and closed it, everything worked just fine and I was able to make my settings stick.
I'll bet you have another piano roll window open somewhere that you are overlooking. Check under the clips window or along the edges of your screen.
Good luck.
