Looking into a MultiMix Firewire 8

Hey guys.

I'm looking into buying the MultiMix Firewire 8 for recording of my band and a few local ones over the summer period.

I play to mic the amps with SM57s and so on, and I know it depends on the amps and stuff, but just how gooda' quality is the MultiMix FW 8 with firewire? I have a more than competant machine to run it to with clean installs of XP SP1 (hate SP2) but yeah.

Was just wondering about what sort of quality I could expect! Does anyone have any sound samples they could post here or email me? (james@blue-shift.net) It would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Yep.

Go to my band's myspace:

The song Chillin' was done on my multimix 16, flat EQ.

Hey there.

Thanks for the reply.

What mics were you using?

That's good quality. I'm pretty impressed for the money.

The bass was direct into the board. The guitar was coming through my Jstation into input 9/10. My drums were live in the room, miked as follows:

sm57 on the snare, dual PG81s for overheads, a beta 52 on the floor tom, and the kick was triggered from a Roland TD-5, direct into input 11/12.
