Presonus Tubepre and e-mu 1212m

OK guys i need help on this one.

I JUST got a new presonus tubepre. and the e-mu 1212m. But i've been working on it for hours now, and still don't know why i can't record. I checked all the wires too. they seemed to be where they needed to be. Only one i question is where am i suppose to plug the chord in the e-mu, comming from the presonus. L? R? Where. and not just that. How am i gonna work my monitors and my headphones...do i need a split??? and this patch program it came with, IS sooooooo complicating, if someone knows how to use it, or a site to help me with that, that would be appreciated... THANKS in advance.!

I'm not too familiar with the 1212 but if there's no built in headphone jack, go with a headphone amp or small mixer. Plug the preamp into the L channel, or 1st input however it's labeled. Plug your monitors into 2 outputs (one L one R) and you should be good to go.

plug it in either L or R.

What program are you using to record?

do your monitors have analog inputs? 1212m has one pair of L & R analog outs. That should be self explanatory. Get/make a cable, what kind of outs are there on your headphones? If only one 1/4" get a splitter. What kind of headphones are you using? Your going to benefit from even a crappy headphone amp.

I am using the same equipment as you. I use a Y cable for using the headphones with the 1212m. But my problem is that i only get sound from the left speaker of the headphones. Any ideas on why this is?
