Recording to seperate tracks

I apologize if you have seen the following question 100 times already. I am interested in recording very simple songs to my computer. I am using an Edirol UA-100G and Magix Music Maker 10 Deluxe. I have made drum tracks using the Magix software, and I want to record the songs piece by piece with a keyboard. I have everything hooked up and I can get it to record, but there is a slight problem. When I use the UA-100 to monitor the drum track and record over it, I end up with two tracks: the original drum track remains, but the new keyboard track also has the drum track incorporated. I would like each track to be seperate so I can individually manipulate them with effects and volume. Is this just a quirk with the software? Is there a way to monitor playback independently from the UA-100? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I dont know much about this program. But if you can make a new track and asign it to an input on your card, your set.

I can not use different inputs because I am using the same keyboard for each track and then dubbing them over each other. I am recording each part individually. I want to be able to monitor the tracks I have already recorded then record a new track over them. However, each new track includeds all the previous tracks I have recorded.
